disturbing. The nation is divided in terms of foreign policy as the U.S. readies itself for war. Is Iraq really such a threat that war is inevitable, or does President
Bush have a hidden agenda? Although there is much debate on the subject, what is clear is that it will only be in hindsight that the true answer is known.
Prior to World War II, there were many people against that war, but in retrospect it has been seen as a sound and productive incident. It exposed and for the
most part eradicated the Nazi presence in Germany and one can say that WWII was a successful action. Vietnam on the other hand has been viewed by most as a
futile military action that cost thousands of lives. The impending war in the Middle East again is controversial but it will only be through looking back, that one will know
whether or not it was the right thing to do. In evaluating the situation, there are many angles one can take and international strategy is a large part of the
equation. In using the definition of international strategy as the means to attempt to implement foreign policy and achieve specific foreign policy objectives, a student writing on this subject will
also want to point out that the branch of government responsible for U.S. International Strategy is the Executive Branch. In utilizing policy makers as the President and staff, State
department, National Security Council, and the CIA, the equation as provided by a student is that the U.S. Foreign Policy Objectives plus U.S. Instruments of Foreign Policy
