both of the firms mentioned would really get their start (Scott & Flanagan, 2007). The article explains that both firms would acquire others and they report the following in the
end: " Today, Nestl? boasts a 17.5% share of the world market, while Unilever is close behind with 16%" (Scott & Flanagan, 2007). Together, Unilever and Nestle own more
than one third of the ice cream market in the world. Gone are the days when the Good Humor man would be the closest reach to an ice cream cone.
Today, ice cream shops abound, but perhaps the most significant way people get their sweets is from their own freezer. Indeed, most ice cream offerings have supermarket presence and the
daily desert is seemingly what drives the market. How does Unilever fare against Nestle? The 2007 article sees Nestle as a bit superior in terms of sales, but a comparison
of the two companies will help to shed light on this subject. II. Unilever A case study on Unilever broaches the idea of
corporate social responsibility. In it, it is noted that Unilever distributed a very large profit amongst stakeholders and this was considered to be a poor choice as some believed that
the profit should have been distributed in part to the staff (Jeurissen, 2007). While this may be the case, corporate boards are really first and foremost responsible to the
