Problem Statement Acculturation can be defined as: "the modification of the culture of a group or individual as a
result of contact with a different culture" (Psychology Glossary, 2002). This definition of acculturation is often utilized as a means of assessing the process of acculturation for racially
diverse or ethnically differentiated communities. In countries like the United States, where there is a large dominant culture, the process of acculturation takes on different characteristics, and varies significantly
depending on the continuity of a specific subculture population. In assessing the impacts of acculturation and racial differentiation on testing processes, it
is necessary to relate specific variables that can impact group process and social perspective. This study incorporates a view of three of the variables that impact these; affirmative action
attitude, race, and gender. This proposal is based on the development of a study of these variables as they impact testing processes. This study is based on the
assertion that variations in individual acculturation and social viewpoint can be assessed relative to the variables presented, and that these are measurable through a view of particular subject populations.
