the years since then and situations have become more tense in recent times. But, as is always the case in overseas duty, life goes on and soldiers experience life in
many ways. The following paper offers a brief look at what life for the U.S. military in Afghanistan is like. The paper looks at their combat life as well as
their daily life. U.S Military in Afghanistan It should perhaps be understood that, as would perhaps be expected, there are likely differences in daily life concerning the various
branches of the military and the various locations or stations of those military individuals. And without truly living there one cannot expect to really understand what daily life is like
for all soldiers. In fact, even for those who live there it is likely impossible to know what all soldiers experiences in daily life are like. As such it should
be noted that this is a brief and general look at life for the U.S. soldier in Afghanistan. In looking at the vast diversity of life in Afghanistan one
sees that many nations in the world, including Australia and Canada, along with the United States, have troops stationed in Afghanistan. In fact, there appear to be "more than 70,000
foreign troops" in Afghanistan at present (Watson, 2008). This brings into play many regions and lifestyles, but also clearly involves "Kandahar Air Field" which "has grown into a vital NATO
air base" where many soldiers live out their daily lives (Watson, 2008). For example, in this particular location more than 13,000 troops
who come from 17 countries, live in an environment wherein a person "can eat at a Dutch chain restaurant alongside soldiers from the Royal Netherlands Army" and where American soldiers,
