use of specific change strategies has been helpful in determining positive improvements in behaviors, social perspective and identification. Two specific change strategies have been better than others in addressing the
needs of youth populations: the use of creativity in implementing change; and the use of a teamwork approach. In each of these cases, views of leadership, individual identification
and specific roles are outlined as a component of the change mechanism. Further, the progression of change through the use of these techniques often suggests that a change initiative
existed prior to the implementation of these techniques. In understanding these two specific change strategies, it is necessary to assess the way they are applied in the organizational structure, and
how they have been adapted for use with youth populations. In addition, developing a view of leadership, motivation and teamwork is also essential to an understanding of the use
of change strategies for youth populations. Leadership Directing Change Perhaps one of the most important aspects in initiating change in youth populations is the use of
a good leader. In the case of youth populations, leaders can exist as members of a youth group, educators, or social workers, all of whom have an investment in
the development of a group perspective. Further, these individual leaders define the directive for change and can be instrumental in the application of creativity as a means of defining
