health care is expected to experience the greatest rate of growth over the next decade. Though most of the positions that will see the greatest demand are technical and
deal with direct patient care, clinical testing analysis, radiology and other associated skills, the growth in these positions also requires increased numbers of managers. All of health care is
in a state of change that will continue for some time; management in this area promises to be challenging and rewarding. Managers in health services will need to be
creative and willing to view possibilities from new perspectives, but they will be required to operate within a framework of traditional management practices and theory as well.
Currently there are a variety of settings in which health services managers may work, and that number is expected to increase in the future. Hospitals
will employ a significant number of generalist managers, whereas a medium-sized physician practice may employ only one on a full-time basis. Required Background
