I felt strongly that a college education is necessary for anyone who wants to develop a career, and not just bounce from job to job all their life. But even
more than that, it will help me distinguish between making a living, and living itself. That quote is both clever and truthful, because there is a real difference between living
and working to earn a salary to pay bills. I expect Endicott to help with both. Lets discuss making a living first. There is no question that all of us
have to learn how to make a living. If we cannot support ourselves, then our future is very uncertain-perhaps we end on welfare; or on the streets. But there is
more to life than just earning enough money to pay the bills. Any reasonable person will also want to have enough money so that he or she can enjoy a
few of the fun things in life, such as trips to interesting places, or occasional meals out, or even a favorite movie. If were doing nothing but scraping along wondering
if we will be able to survive until the next check, life can be very difficult and not very enjoyable. In order to avoid living like this, its necessary to
learn to "make a living," and that is why Ive chosen Endicott. But making a living is entirely different from learning how to live, and that too is another
