Malvolio. This paper is a creative writing exercise in which Sir Toby is put on trial for his crime. Discussion Your Honor, Ladies
and Gentlemen of the Jury, let me sum up the case for the prosecution. This individual, one Sir Toby Belch, is the Lady Olivias uncle, and although Olivia is wealthy,
Toby has no means of his own and is sponging on her. Hes also invited his crony, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, to come to the house as a suitor to Olivia
and the two of them create havoc. It doesnt help that Maria, Olivias lady-in-waiting, is infatuated with Sir Toby and goes along with all his schemes. The final member of
the infamous quartet is Feste, Olivias jester, who dislikes Malvolio intensely and joins willingly in the trick against him. Malvolio, the Lady
Olivias steward, can be overbearing at times, its true, but he takes his duties seriously and has tried on numerous occasions to put an end to Tobys activities. Even Maria
has warned Toby that the Lady Olivia is growing impatient with him: "Your cousin, my lady, takes great exceptions to your ill hours" (I.iii.5-6). She also says that Sir Andrew
is a fool, a coward and a "great quarreller" (I.iii.30). The two of them are rapidly wearing out their welcome. Because they
dislike him and resent the fact that as the ladys steward he has authority over them, the four miscreants you see before you, namely Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, Maria and
