Manager of Marriott Hotels, and Susan Cook, a business consultant co-founded a learning seminar entitled, "The Service/Quality Leadership Forum 2000," a forum in which executives from 50 major corporations shared ideas and discussed new and cutting-edge business approaches. Five years later, they decided to share these unique insider perspectives with others in their informative text, Turned On: Eight Vital Insights to Energize Your People, Customers, and Profits. This has become required reading for anyone who wishes to increase productivity, improve business management skills and cultivate quality customer relationships. The book is divided into eight sections or insights and then further subdivided into individual chapters. The first insight, "Build a Strong Foundation," considers the importance of articulating a simple, cohesive vision that inspires unity and reinforces customer commitment.
