are not born knowing the difference between boys and girls. These are things people are taught by their parents and their environment. Much of what we know we learn through
life and we are not born with a predisposition to hate, or have prejudices against people. This is generally common knowledge, but also something that is studied in the field
of sociology and psychology in order to understand how and why people have prejudices. The following paper examines this proverb, or saying, and uses one particular study concerning parents and
values to demonstrate just how one aspect of this proverb is true. Children are not born with prejudices; they learn them
In addressing research on this particular subject, it seems as though many article simply claim that this proverb is true, essentially based on age old research that has already proven
this statement true. As such it is specific aspects of the proverb that are often tested. For example, a research may address how children do, or do not, eventually grow
up to possess their parents values. Or a research may address what kind of negative events in ones life affected their prejudices. In all honesty, there was only one detailed
study found by this particular writer that addresses an aspect of this proverb. That research addressed how well children perceive their parents values. However, at the same time, an excellent
