Abstract Trust is an ethical consideration for companies wishing to market to consumers in the hopes of building future trust and value added
income. Without a commitment to consistency and dependability, companies cannot build trust with their consumers, and can lose their footing in the marketplace. Companies server their own needs by taking
care to become sensitive to consumer needs, without being told what those needs are after the fact. By doing so, they much better chance of riding out natural market conditions
and erosion of faith in them by customers. One example where this was handled wisely is Johnson & Johnsons proactive response to the Tylenol poisonings it was not response for,
but which response created an atmosphere of complete faith in the company. Ongoing business is based on this type of ethics and the companys desire to build trust.
