                                                    the Second World War caused some glitches, by 1970 the total average life expectancy in the US was 70.8 years, in 1980 it was 73.7 years, in 1990 it was  
                                                
                                                    75.4 years and in 2000 it was 77 years rising to 77.4 by 2003. The ethnic gap is decreasing and the gender gap is seeing the life expectancy or women  
                                                
                                                    increase at a slightly higher rate (Arias, 2006).  	This has a large potential impact on a company such as Pfizer. The greater life expectancy increases the potential markets for  
                                                
                                                    treatments associated with the process of aging, from arthritis to heart condition. This means not only is the market larger overall, there is an increased need for treatments for conditions
