of these perspectives. The venue for each is also different and today, there are a vast array of communication channels. The employee-management relationship may emphasize performance, human relations and
productivity (Narula, 2006). The communication may be through the use of technology, oral interpersonal interactions, a written report or instructions, or any other media (Narula, 2006). The communication between customer-supplier
relationship may rely on data, information, or knowledge about the organizations products and/or services (Narula, 2006). Again, this information may be transmitted much the same venues as the employee-management relationship
using technology, various media, interpersonal interactions or the written word (Narula, 2006). In any communication relationship and regardless of the tool used to communicate, it is all intended to present
a favorable perception of the company. There are far more options for communication today than in the past. And, those options continue to grow. Leonhard (2008), a media futurist,
reported the trends in using technology for business communication. It was not that long ago that the telephone was used the most for all business communication but today, surveys suggest
the telephone is used only about 35-40 percent of the time for important communication transactions (Leonhard, 2008). The Internet brought e-mail to the world and its use grew exponentially and
just surpasses the use of the telephone today (Leonhard, 2008). The communication technology that is growing rapidly today is the social nets; Leonhards (2008) forecast is that social nets and
media will pull strongly ahead of both the telephone and e-mail in the near future (Leonhard, 2008). This trend will not be surprising to persons who use the Internet frequently.
