model developed by Driscoll (2000, 1994), this is a very simple model that allows for reflection to take place under three headings, it is also a model that can be
easily used as a basis for other reflective models with the three stages of what, so what and now what. This is also a model seen to be used in
the UK National Health Service (DoH, 1999). What? In this reflective document we are looking at the client who is of working age and suffering from a common affective
disorder in order to appreciate the issues work working age clients with mental health issues and the specific needs and to help with the way that similar clients may be
helped in the future. In this case we will call the patient Joan. Joan is a 43 year old woman, her son of 19 is at university and she is
working in a local factory on a minimum wage job in a changing shift pattern. She has been divorced for the last ten years and in raising her son has
also incurred several debts which have created stress, these are an issue. Joan needs to work in order to pay debts and had been placed initially on Prozac by her
GP and had been on these for some time without any additional treatment or counselling. When in the counselling room Joan had a generally dower nature, her personal care
