or technology that competitors could simply readily adopt. Human resources represent just such an internal strength upon which organization can capitalize, and likely the most important advantage comes from effective
leadership. When an organization has high quality effective leadership, advantages emerge naturally at the process and technological levels, because of the inherent value the leader confers upon the organization. For
this reason, todays business leaders must strive to improve their fundamental leadership abilities to confer as much advantage to an organization as possible, through learning which leadership models represent the
best course of action in any given situation, and what types of leadership are most correlated with competitive advantage. This paper will present a plan for leadership development in the
healthcare field, wherein I address my particular strengths and weaknesses in the context of various leadership models, determine which best suits me, and then create a plan to pursue and
develop skills within that model of leadership. To begin with, one should address which model of leadership one will adopt within the course of ones career as a leader. Differing
models of leadership all hope to achieve the same outcome of conferring a competitive advantage upon an organization, but they differ radically in terms of how they specifically approach such
a goal. For this reason, one must explore the vast world of leadership models in order to come to an understanding regarding which style of leadership best fits with ones
