and that will get them far, but charisma alone does not make for a good leader. For instance, many destructive leaders like Adolph Hitler and Charles Manson had a bit
of charisma. They were able to lead and they had followers who carried out their order without question, despite the evil nature of those requests. And then of course there
are leaders who seem to attract notoriety and also possess charisma. However, even if they are not evil, they may lack good character. Bill Clinton is an example
of this type of leader. He has charisma and intelligence but he lacks in terms of morality. In the public eye, and especially in politics, many great leaders have
had mistresses or notorious affairs. Some claim that such things do not matter, but the fact that a leader has had personal indiscretions goes to the credibility of the leader.
If a politician lies to his spouse, then he cannot be trusted. Yet, many people in the world today do not see things quite that way. They ignore the traits
of the leader and merely look at what has been accomplished. Of course, someone who is of a high moral makeup may lack in respect to other important traits. Good
leaders possess numerous positive aspects. For the most part, leaders with desirable traits do seem to have an inborn and uncanny ability to get things done. They are also good
with people. Again, a very important trait is character. Character matters in the scheme of things. No matter how good a politician can run a nation or a state or
a city, whether or not he lies and steals makes a difference. Zauderer (2005) talks about the importance of character. He explains that when leaders have good character, they stand
