has changed dramatically over the last two decades, Technology has made diagnosis and treatment more effective leading to successful outcomes for patients. Even the technology requires training. As science advances,
there is even more to learn. Medicine has always been an evidenced-based practice which means it is imperative that health care professionals keep up with the research. Taylor et al.
(2004) conducted a study to explore the critical appraisal skills of health care professionals. Critical appraisal skills are crucial for reading and interpreting the value of research. About 145
physicians of different specialties participated in a half-day critical appraisal skills workshop that intended to improve their skills when considering studies that claimed to provide evidence-based outcomes related to health
care (Taylor et al., 2004). Critical thinking, problem solving, and appraisal skills are needed if health care professionals are going to judge so-called evidence-based practices. If doctors are going
to follow and evidence-based approach to practiced, they must be able to turn problems in their practice into direct and specific questions. They must be able to do a comprehensive
literature search related to their question. They must be able to appraise the literature for scientific validity and they must be able to apply the results (Taylor et al., 2004).
There were several outcomes of the research. First, physicians read more evidence-based literature to keep up to date and to solve problems with more time spent reading to find answers
