disorders as they are encountered in the workplace. Personality disorders are a well known psychological phenomena. They are also a quite prevalent psychological phenomena and a phenomena that
is not just limited to the unemployed. Indeed, Cavaiola and Lavender (2000) point out that a "sizable number" of those individuals that suffer from personality disorders also hold down
a job. That means that the rest of us are likely to encounter co-workers with one type of personality disorder or another at one period or another in our
working careers. The information provided in Cavaiola and Lavenders (2000) book can heighten our chances of dealing with those encounters in the most positive manner possible. Whether we
work alongside a hyperactive co-worker, an obsessive-compulsive, or a sociopath, there are certain tactics that we can employ to cope. As will be discussed more fully below, however, Cavaiola
and Lavenders message goes hand in hand with a certain degree of caution, however, if we are to insure that it will make a primarily positive impact or a primarily
negative impact in the workplace. Workplace productivity is affected by a variety of different factors. One of the most important
