About the only guaranteed constant in business of any kind is that it will change. This is particularly true in tourism where customer tastes change frequently.
Research into existing markets enables the travel manager to achieve and maintain understanding of those markets. With greater understanding of what specific locations have to offer; what types
of travelers are attracted to them; how visitors use available services; and other information that existing markets can provide, the travel manager can better advise clients and also work to
promote specific directions for existing markets so that they can maintain their relevancy to visitors as customer tastes continue to change and evolve. Question 2 - Regional Alliances
Forming regional alliances with adjoining destination regions enables businesses within those regions to better focus their marketing efforts and often extends the attractiveness of the
larger region to a greater number of travelers. As example, if seeking to target families to gain a greater number of families visiting for vacation, adjoining regions can promote
themselves as "sister" regions offering similar surroundings but different activities that can appeal to different types and ages of family members. Question 3 - Value of Lobbying and Representation
An area such as the Yarra Valley possesses immense natural beauty as well as traditional, standard attractions and things to do that many find
enjoyable. Some of its attractions are more than only tourist attractions, however. An example is Magic Garden Roses, where more than 100,000 roses are growing and the proprietors
have a special display section in which they use low-water techniques to produce fragrant rose flowers. These growers advocate using only a liter of water on those plants that
