it is more suited to a wider range of environments and scenarios than the soft or hard systems methodologies (Flood and Jackson, 1991). This is a system that brings together
different, already proven systems developed to generate creative thinking (Flood and Jackson, 1991). The models makes use of metaphors in order to address the major issues, and these are then
used to identify the most suitable one or too methodologies that will be used (Flood and Jackson, 1991). Therefore, this a customisable methods that can be modified to best suit
the needs of company using it. Flood and Johnson call this a "meta-methodology" that operationalises critical thinking (Daellenbach, 2001). Critical systems thinking can be seen as a school of
thought that is reflected in this meta-methodology. This includes complementarism, emancipation, and social awareness (Daellenbach, 2001). These relate directly to the knowledges already discussed. In looking at the three stages
we can understand how these different aspects may be incorporated. There are several principles that underlie this model, in looking at these we can gain a more comprehensive understanding
of the model. The main principle is that organisations are too large and complex to be understood or analysed using only a single model (Flood and Jackson, 1991). If we
look at many of the more traditional models that have been proposed all may be seen as lacking an holistic approach and have ingrained constraints. The use of metaphors will
