few brief hours per day. When these tasks which seem overwhelming they are broken down into smaller parts, the concept does not appear so daunting. This is not
necessarily the best approach. The subjects intertwine, as does life. Curriculum should be considered in the term of "self". Not only individuals "selves", but also the collective
"selves". Teachers need to understand the general capabilities and interests common to each age of childhood so that they may plan curriculum that is neither
too difficult nor too easy. In order to appreciate the uniqueness of the child, the teacher needs to know the cultural values the childs family holds dear. The
bits and pieces that are garnered by the teacher are contributory to the understanding of the child. Teachers must work hard. Teaching children
is not an easy task. They need to pay attention to research and apply the results of research when it is appropriate to do so. Education must be
presented within a climate of caring. The behaviorist approach maintains that the basic principles of learning operate according to the laws of classical,
operate conditioning. The constructive approach sees the child as the source of action combined with interaction with the environment rather than being mainly manipulated from the outside as the
