it is an area of study with a great deal of ambiguity. There are many prevailing theories as to why actions may or may not be moral, but little in
the way of definitive consensus. It is, after all, difficult to explain ethics in reason-oriented terms. Most people would agree that it is immoral to murder someone. However, if asked
to explain why this is so, by appealing to reason, they might have a hard time doing so. One common argument is that the action is morally wrong because it
is against the law. However, it is important when studying ethics to realize that ethics and law are not the same thing. It is entirely possible for an action to
be both moral and illegal. However, in some cases, there is a great deal of overlap between ethics and the domain of the law. This is particularly true of the
health care industry. Legal concerns intersect with health care ethics quite readily because of the fact that the health care industry involves professionals dealing with individuals in precarious situations
where the slightest mistake might leave them worse off - and the professional liable. One of the aspects in which it is easiest to see the interaction between the law
