Religion offers tremendous insight into life. Most religions regard our worldly lives as tests where we must endure a certain degree of
hardship. Eastern religions are no exception to this generalization. The phrase "to live is to suffer", for example, is reflected in more than one aspect of both Hindu
and Buddhists teachings. These religions accept that suffering is a part of life and they give guidance for overcoming that suffering. It
is certainly not difficult to observe suffering in our modern world. From the time we are born, when our mothers labor in extreme pain just to bring us into
the world, to the time we die of some devastating disease or some horrible accident, we suffer. We suffer when we dont have money to pay this months utility
bills, when we are cramming for a test, and when we break up with someone that we consider our one true love. Suffering, after all come is all different
degrees and types. Religion helps us deal with this suffering. It teaches us to expect it, in fact, because "to live" is, in fact, "to suffer". More
importantly, however, religion teaches us how to endure and even overcome our suffering. While some have attempted to place the blame for
