work of fiction has captivated much attention. Lawrence Thornton writes a novel, using Argentinas dirty war as its setting. Later, it becomes a feature film and part of a series
of books. What is relayed from the pages of the book entitled Imagining Argentina is that the world virtually ignored the struggle, but that in Argentina, war was waged.
It may have been undeclared, but it was certainly something that most people would equate with wartime. The people of Argentina were at war and it was against a force
that was to help them, which was their own government. A long stint characterized by kidnappings and torture was in store for thousands of citizens. During the 1970s, the Argentinean
government employed military rule and people would begin to disappear off the face of the Earth. They actually were captured and held and in the novel Imagining Argentina, Lawrence
Thornton writes about a very real situation. This piece of historic fiction relays a lot about the events of the day through focusing on the protagonist Carlos Rueda who happens
to be a playwright. This character is endowed with a gift and uses his psychic abilities to help the relatives of those who were seized by the government. Throughout the
