Essay / Research Paper Abstract
This 10 page
report discusses the 1989 book by foreign correspondent Thomas
Friedman. Friedman, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner (1983 and
1988 for Middle East coverage) also won the National Book Award
for “From Beirut to Jerusalem.” The most compelling portions of
Friedman’s book are about the torment and the turbulence that is
Lebanon. As he presents his readers with the relationships he
established during his time in both Israel and Lebanon, he calls
on one of the fundamentals of social science in terms of that
relationship building. A significant portion of this report
