real life, there is no magic, although it is arguable--at least according to theories of quantum physics--that people do create their own realities. When someone works at a school or
hospital or on a military base and witness injustices all day, they may wish they can do something but feel powerless to do anything. In the health care industry, there
are a myriad of problems and complaints, but it really only takes a good administrator, or a nurse with a mission, or a doctor with a heart, to really
make a difference. There are many examples that come from real life as well as literature. There is the OR nurse who stands up to the establishment and testifies against
a doctor, even though her career will be history. On NBCs ER, one doctor was willing to perform a transplant for what she construed were the right reasons, even though
a law allowing such a situation would not be passed until the next week. With courage and attention to problems, people can make a real difference. In helping professions, such
leadership is desirable. The health care industry today is fraught with problems. For example, there have been shortages in a variety of areas. The system is strained and staffing
shortages create an even grater dilemma. There is also an apparent demand on system resources. It seems that the system is broken and can only be fixed by magic, or
