to buy up Wall Streets worthless investments with Main Streets hard-earned tax dollars, some folks are planning to bring their OWN junk to Wall Street to see if they can
get a bailout, too" (Rooney). Presuming that the student researching this topic watches one of these protests, the questions posed by the assignment come to mind, which includes the overriding
question of how can one see God at work in these protest events? The first reaction of practically every American watching the economy unravel is anger. The people who
have been entrusted to safeguard the economic foundations of the nation have violated that trust. In an age of easy credit, many people have overextended themselves, committing themselves to mortgages
that they cannot actually afford. They cannot now pay back these debts and banks are paying the price for agreeing to what, in retrospect, are obviously ridiculous and ultimately worthless
loans. The reactions of this writer/tutor are not different from the rest of the public, as anger is my first reaction, but this is also tinged with sympathy for the
people who are now facing the consequences of rashly made decisions. In this fiasco, Wall Street and the large portions of the American public colluded in a situation that
focused on false values-on easy money, quick riches and living beyond ones means. There are numerous scriptures in both the Old and New Testament that emphasize the importance of handling
money wisely, while keeping it in perspective. Psalm 15:5 states that God will honor him "who does not put out his money at usury" (charge exorbitant interest) and Deuteronomy
