AKP Party in Turkey has been due to their success in communicating that they are a moderate unified party despite their religious foundation.
This topic may have been chosen due to the way it demonstrates the interaction between politics and the media, and how a careful controlled message will be received
by the electorate if the message is what they want to hear. This is also a topic that fits in well with a course on communications.
This topic is of importance of a message through the media and how politics is not only policies and actions but perceptions conveyed by the way the
communication takes place to show pass on the electorate a message they want to here. This is also a good case study that shows how communication is received and messages
are interpreted in the way that the receivers want to hear the message even if there are past contradictions. The research will
include research that looks at how the AKP have managed to create and project their image to the Turkish electorate and how their messages have been carefully framed to take
advantage of the political situation of the time. This will look at the press coverage of the events and concentrate on the way in which the AKP were projecting their
image and supporting this with actions that were also reported in the press. This needs to be considered against social context where there have been reactions against extremists groups and
