his works are a brilliant collection of color, texture and technique. The work of Manet is a study in complexity, as he interwove his life and experiences into his
very personalized style, with a clearly significant result. In order to better understand the style of this writer, it is important to analyze his important works, such as Olympia,
The Bar at the Folies-Bergere, and Le Balcon. Manet was born in 1832 and dies in 1883, and would lead
not only a notable life himself, but would come to be an important influence upon a generation of impressionists who would follow (Grieve). Frequently they would all gather at
the Caf? Guerbois in Paris, and talk endlessly about society, culture and art. Manet wasnt they "typical" struggling artist but instead was born into privilege and wealth (Grieve).
When he turned 18 years old, his father granted him permission (and financial support) to pursue a career as a painter (Grieve).
Manet earned the title of inventor of modern art and has also been considered the godfather of Impressionism (Manet - The Inventor of Modern Art). He was
known to be a determined individualist, and was known for the time when he asked a group of models about their ridiculous poses - questioning if they would adopt such
a pose if they were buying radishes in the market (Grieve). But it is also important to note that he didnt deviate completely from tradition, and often drew inspiration
from many classical artists before him (Grieve). Still, his work drew criticism and controversy (Grieve). It is said that
