and its many components have opened a world that we only dreamed of a few decades ago. One of the most important components to any computer
is the hard drive itself. The hard drive is the facility that the software is loaded onto and the peripherals are attached to. The size and capacity of the hard
drive are what determine if the computer is going to be a humming efficient piece of office equipment or a typewriter with a screen. The hard drive comes in various
sizes which means it can either hold a lot of software data, thereby enabling the operator to use many helpful functions, or it holds a small amount of software data,
rendering it archaic and useless. When one buys a computer it is important to get a sufficient amount of hard drive space to hold all the software and future software
needs the purchaser may have. Software often comes loaded onto the computer at the time of purchase. Software are the programs with which the computer is told
what to do and what function to perform. An example of software would be Windows 98. A good way to understand what Windows 98 is one can compare it
to the front door of a house. When one looks at a closed front door one knows that by opening it he will encounter many useful things. A kitchen will
be there for cooking nutritious food, a restroom will be there for keeping clean , a living room will come in handy for relaxing and the bedroom is for sleeping.
