into wonderful individuals that do not follow the stereotype of a male. However, many are starting to really recognize the fact that boys and girls, and thus men and women,
are different. They are biologically and physiologically and mentally and psychologically very different. Michael Gurians book "The Wonder of Boys: What Parents, Mentors and Educators Can Do to Shape Boys
Into Men" is a book that urges the society to recognize this reality. His work focuses on how society has been trying to make boys into something they are not.
The following paper essentially provides a brief description, summary, and analysis of Gurians work. The Wonder of Boys Gurian, first off, argues correctly that boys and girls are different.
He argues that too often society has focused on treating them exactly the same and thus perhaps creating problems in young men, and then adult men, who are lost in
a world they cannot deal with. There are, however, many reasons, according to Gurian, why boys can be different from girls and he also illustrates how things can often go
wrong. For the most part it appears as though Gurians work is focusing on how bad single mothering is for sons, and how mothers seem to be all but unnecessary
