our country and the world at large is huge, and the ramifications are still evident today. We still see soldiers who have been unable to mend their limbs and
their lives - both of which were lost to the war. The effects of agent orange are still evident in the lives of people who emerged from its grasp
with bodily defects. In terms of politics Vietnam changed the way America viewed its leaders, and that undercurrent of distrust and misgiving is still clearly evident in America today.
Children who were born as a result of Americas participation in this war are another daily reminder of the part for which America was cast. And, furthermore, who
can forget the tragedy of the untold number of lives which were lost - boys who will never return home and a world which will never experience the contributions which
may have belonged to them. One of the more disturbing and lasting effects of Vietnam is the psychological damage which
it inflicted upon its participants. This was the emergence of what we now know as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and it effected most all of the soldiers who returned to
this country after serving in Vietnam. What is even more tragic is that most of them never have recovered from the sights in Vietnam. Many of those men
never did manage to put their lives back together as a result of what they witnessed in war. What is very interesting is that in addition to this
evidence which remains despite the passage of time, perhaps what is most notable is that even today there continues to be much controversy as to whether or not America should
