as well as one among many in terms of relationships. In the following paper we first examine the theories of the conflict theorist and then discuss how a conflict theorist
may well see "The Wall." Conflict Theory "The functionalist and conflict-theorist, using the big-picture, macro-level view, would look at society as the sum of its parts, rather than just
the parts individually...The conflict-theorist...while also seeing society as a whole, views it differently from the functionalist by seeing how the different parts of society try to gain from each other
by exploitation and inequality" (Pandya, 1996; 1016.html). In relationship to education, and institutions that supposedly are for the good of the individual as well as society, we noted that
"the conflict-theorist, instead of seeing how going to college worked for the good of society, would see how it divides society, how different groups try to exploit its use for
their own gain, and how it creates inequality within society. In studying, the conflict-theorist would see that, in fact, going to college creates a lot of inequalities within society" (Pandya,
1996; 1016.html). In short, the conflict theorist sees how institutions often instill a sense of conflict, increasing inequalities and almost insisting that competition and conflict take place for the evolution
of the species. In further examining this, we look at the conflict theorists perspective concerning education from an economic standpoint: "For instance, in societies like the United States, the
