WTO from the beginning when it states, "The battle for Seattle over the World Trade Organization meetings was the embryonic, stage of the struggle against "timeocracy". As defined by Plato
Timeocracy is a state in which love of wealth and power is the guiding principle of the rulers(Borchgrave 44)." According to the author , the WTO is
no more than an organization that is intended to make the rich get richer and the poor more poor. The author asserts that the WTO is the primary cause for
the gap widening between the haves and the have nots of the world. This is a fallacy based on several factors. The first factor that proves this author to be
mistaken is that unemployment rates in various countries cannot be attributed directly or indirectly to the WTO regardless of the effort made to do so. In fact it could be
argued that the opposite should hold true. When free trade opened up the world and began to erase the international boundaries that have ruled our trade efforts
for so many years it , in theory would open more jobs, not less. The demand would go from domestic and local need to an international need and that alone
would have boosted employment in many areas such as grain, fuels and other products. There are other causes of high unemployment rates in the countries that the author pointed out
such as Germany and Italy. Part of the cause may be that these countries are not as advanced technologically as some of the western block countries are. However, the
technological advancement of those countries really wont have an impact on the grain market or the fuel market when it comes to employment. Another fallacy
