play is an examination of war, and the ramifications (both good and bad) of human greatness. Such human greatness is evidenced in the character of Henry himself, who emerges from
this tale clearly a hero. It is courage and wisdom that define Aristotelian heroism, and according to those standards Henry V is indeed a character to be extolled and
emulated. Henrys heroism is identifiable through numerous decisions that Henry faced and the way in which these decisions were resolved. For
instance, we see Henry V accomplish many feats in the course of the play, representing a great deal of diversity. These accomplishments range from participating in council, negotiations with
the enemy, leading military expeditions, and much more. What is so striking is that in each instance, Henry is a huge success.
Shakespeare expertly employs the assistance of the Chorus, whose purpose it is to announce the major points in the play. Essentially then, the chorus serves to
announce each and every time Henry is about to succeed at yet something else. Furthermore, the success and heroism of Henry is further illustrated in his dominance of the
plot. There is little else that constitutes the plot other than Henry and his brilliant ability to dominate every situation. Therefore, this play is essentially a stage upon
which Henry himself is the shining star - both literally and figuratively. However, the one complicating point to this story
