The Vietnam War is one of the more sensitive parts of American history. There are as many opinions on the war
and there are individuals who either remember it or have hand one reason or another to study it. The World Wide Web (WWW) is just one of our societal reservoirs
for these opinions. The purpose of this paper it to take a look at this difficult period in history from the various perspectives that are to be found on
the WWW. One of the more interesting sites on the WWW is one titled "Vietnam Veterans Homepage". It is a
compendium of various sorts of information. Anything from maps of Vietnam to personal memories can be found there. The pages stated purpose is:
"To honor Vietnam Veterans, living and dead, who served their country on either side of the conflict" (McBride, 1994).
This page includes links to information posted by those that served in the war and serves as a place where information, stories, poems
and even artwork regarding the war can be exchanged. Another site that features information from the perspective of those that served is
"South Vietnam: This Aint Kansas, Toto". This site too features stories about the war that have been submitted by those that served. Stories are included as well
about events that these servicemen and women experienced after the war. There is a bulletin board where individuals can correspond with one another in an online format and features
