called Fat Actress. She and others like Anna Nicole Smith have made a great deal of money on this vice. Interestingly, the world is one that mocks people who overeat.
Unlike other vices such as drugs and alcohol, which are glamorized to an extent, people look at fat individuals as overindulgent and lacking self-control. It is certainly a significant problem
in America today. The problem in the United States is vast and not only do famous people go on television to exploit this vice, but ordinary folk go on
television shows to try to lose weight. They go on shows like Dr. Phil or use diet products and give testimonials. The weight loss industry is vast and some even
criticize the industry, suggesting that being skinny is not necessarily the best thing for human beings. Some overweight people have formed groups and contest the idea that their weight is
problematic. They contend that they are healthy the way they are and there is a fat acceptance movement as well. For most people, overeating is a bad habit, but few
people think of it as truly sinful. Yet, Dante seems to embrace gluttony as a sin that is punishable in Hell. The Inferno by Dante, provides much thought in
