different tactics are necessitated. In recent years the UK has felt the pressures that are created by way of the EU law, as these have become more and more prominent
in terms of international business. There has been a recognised need for change, and like any legislative body the EU recognises that there are laws that need to be
changed. To this end, we see that there was a change instigated in 1999 where a new block exemption Regulation was adopted. This is Regulation (EC) 2790/99 (Voillemot et al,
2000). This regulation concerned the vertical restraints that were already in place which were seen as very has an inflexible (Weatherill and Beaumont, 2000). This has heralded a major
changed that was recognised as being necessary. The existing competition rules and their need for change can be seen in the modern interpretation of the way that Consten and Grundig
