a specific degree for the knowledge that it imparts, However, there are also indirect benefits, for example, many employers may have programs of jobs where they want a degree level
education but not any specific degree. The underlying theory is that the degree is more than just the transfer of knowledge and facts, it has a much greater value impacting
in the way a person is able to develop as an individual, How their thinking processes will have developed, with an increased ability to undertake critical thinking processes and independent
thought. This does not mean that an individual needs a degree to be successful, many of todays very successful business people did not have a degree education, but it is
an advantage. The way that a university degree is taught differs from earlier forms of post compulsory and compulsory education, this can have an impact on thinking processes and
life long learning habits. When in compulsory education there may be a teaching style that allows for student to learn and discover, finding out for themselves using, there may also
be the use of a telling style, however, whichever style of teaching is used there will be a high level of guidance given, not only in the subject taught, but
also in the way that the student will complete there work with a high degree of structure. This changes when a student attends a university degree. There will usually
