There are likely many reasons why it is vague, and why it is often perhaps even misunderstood but the primary truth is that the founding fathers created a relatively vague document so that it could adjust for the needs these founding fathers could not foresee in the future. They were wise enough to know that the future of the nation would change so much, in so many different ways, that some level of vagueness was necessary to meet the needs of the nation and the people. The following paper illustrates how the United States Constitution is vague because it allows for greater flexibility in an ever-changing world. The Vagueness of the United States Constitution Throughout history, or the history of the United States, there have been social and political, and even personal, needs that the founding fathers could not have envisioned. Imagine the world today, with the United States standing as the most powerful and wealthy nation in the world, the technology that exists, and the diversity that exists in the United States and one can well envision the fact that the founding fathers could not have foreseen most of this existing. One can well argue that the founding fathers were incredibly wise, or that they were very lucky, when they put the Constitution into place and did so with relatively vague language.
