infamous Bronx Zoo is one of them. While enormous in scope, it is especially relevant for New York City children who have limited contact with animals other than pets. Unlike
children who grow up on a farm, city kids are not privy to what occurs in the lives of animals in a natural setting. It is also a good experience
for children to be able to leave the classroom for a day and be outside in the fresh air. The New York Botanical Garden is another Bronx gem that
students would enjoy. In addition to the floral exhibits, students may learn from the various exhibits that exemplify a variety of cultures. A trip to Brooklyn will reveal
similar finds in the Brooklyn Museum of Art with an adjacent Botanical Garden. Not only does this provide what one might find in the botanical gardens in the Bronx--except on
a much smaller scale--but after looking at the art and flowers, one can walk down to the main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. Due to its vast size, it
contains more books than many children have ever seen in one visit. Most neighborhoods libraries are much smaller. This library sits across the street from Prospect Park that may
be enjoyed as well. Perhaps another day, a trip to the Aquarium is in order which is located clear across the borough in Coney Island. Museums are also
good places to visit for day trips and the Guggenheim Museum on 89th Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan is one of the finest. It should be noted that museums
