via satellite. The early 1990s Gulf War was admittedly televised as well, but it was not at close range. That occurred mostly because a CNN reporter happened to be stuck
in Baghdad. But in the early part of the twenty-first century, the first televised war became a phenomenon. People were amazed that they could see their loved ones wave during
a military action and that the reporters were so close to the action. In fact, a new term called embedded reporting saw journalists living as military recruits. To a large
extent, the new trend is attributable to changes in technology. It is now possible to televise a war, so it goes on prime time. In addition to the fact
that communications has changed so much that the troops are in the living rooms of America, technology in the military has changed as well. For example, air travel has changed
a lot. Aerospace technology is truly remarkable. Men can fly through outer space, people commute by jet and the President of the United States can take his private plane to
any corner of the world. In addition to the fact that air travel is more easily accomplished which means that soldiers can be transported to other continents quite easily, other
technological advances have contributed to a change in warfare as well. The introduction of the Stealth bomber was quite an event. With its advent, the U.S. could in
fact be on its way to maintaining military dominance in the coming decades (Lamar, 1988). The craft is only one of many new and costly weapons introduced in the United
States (1988). While the introduction of the new technology was exciting it was also controversial. People wondered whether or not such an expensive aircraft was warranted. But those who supported
