work entails a great deal of research, documentation and storage of files. Law firms tend to amass a great deal of paper work. When there is a case at hand,
research needs to be done, papers created and contracts and agreements are par for the course. Attorneys create these contracts and must also manufacture demonstrations for trial. In fact, so
much of what attorneys do amounts to a great deal of paper work. Unlike the old days with immense piles of paper in boxes for each case, there are short-cuts
to research and documentation as well as more capacity for storage, when computers are properly used. Attorneys --while they often must create reams of paper -- have found software that
fulfills their daily needs. Some firms use ordinary software and others use computer software designed with the law firm in mind. Two pieces of software that may be found in
both small and large firms are Summation and Access. The former is quite popular to manage the day to day research and storage challenges that lawyers face everyday. Summation is
a software program that is used to help attorneys quickly find documents for review, or search through testimony or locate important documents or facts ("Summation Products," 2005). In addition to
helping lawyers locate important information, it provides links for documents, case events and transcripts ("Summation Products," 2005). The software also allows for the user to attach video files and to
also utilize video synchronization ("Summation Products," 2005). Video is important today and can help a lawyer prepare for high profile cases in this manner. Finally, this software allows attorneys
