remotely over a network that is designed for patch management, system upgrades and software distribution, as well as the ability to take software and hardware inventory (Stair, Reynolds & Reynolds,
2009). This is an excellent piece of software that is useful for managing the hardware and software needs of any police department. It is also useful for private
sector enterprises as well. Information systems that operate within a personal sphere of influence will serve the needs of individual users (Stair, Reynolds & Reynolds, 2008). This particular software works
well on a personal level. That is not to say that people work in a vacuum. Yet, certain software and hardware will be used by an individual. Programs that help
with personal organization or communication such as what is found on a cell phone may be considered the personal level. At the York Police Department, it is likely that officers
have been using gadgets that serve their own personal goals and commitments. Personal software needs are often associated with the organization of data and schedules. Stair, Reynolds & Reynolds (2009)
explain in respect to York: "No longer do officers need to spend hours waiting on their PC updates. PCs are update as needed over the wireless network" (176). Officers are
