all that. Grandparents are IMing their grandchildren and writing emails to their friends. Things are certainly different. Computers have revolutionized how people work, but it has also invaded personal territory.
Again, no longer do people hand write letters. They compose an email and hit the Send button. Very few people take the time to do anything else, and with the
use of technology, it seems that all facets of life are affected by computers. Many people talk about the effects of technology on personal life and on work. Yet, few
pay attention to its role in education. To some extent, that is the fault of public school systems that fail to obtain reliable up to date computers, but this is
changing, and most certainly, education has been revolutionized by computers too. Not too long ago, Nelson Bolles published a book on the three boxes of life concept, where it was
claimed that people can divide their time in different ways. That is, they could decide how to live their lives by forfeiting time in the present to work and go
to school in order to have leisure time afterwards, a time generally called retirement. But some people are organizing their lives differently. They may decide to spend some years traveling
in their twenties and work late into their seventies or eighties. Conversely, they may decide to split their time proportionality throughout life. Yet, the point of this example is that
education usually takes a good sized chunk of life and time is the primary focus on how to organize ones life. People are given a set amount of time. That
is, everyone has the same ten years during their twenties, and ten years during their thirties, and so on. People must choose what to do with their time. Perhaps the
