forward-looking which is reflected in their planning. The first Presidents Council meeting was held in Tokyo in November 2006; the second bi-annual meeting was held in London. The University invited
specialists from more than two dozen fields from fifteen countries, including academics, journalists, business leaders and political leaders. The purpose of the meetings is to share ideas on the future
development of the university, the form of higher education in the future, the universitys international image and their relations with both developed and developing nations (The University of Tokyo, Development,
