Essay / Research Paper Abstract
A 3 page overview of the two primary theories concerning the creation of life. These theories are the Big Bang theory and the Creationist theory. While significant effort has been expended demonstrating the validity of the Big Bang theory, there always remains the exceptions in the so-called universal genetic code that are not explained. Bibliography lists 2 sources.

There are two theories as to why the genetic code is almost universal. The first of these theories, the theory
that life sprang from a cateclismic solar event, emphasizes the fact the genetic code of most all of lifes organisms are structured around just a few basic components. The
second theory as to why the genetic code is *almost* universal explains that life sprang from (to use contemporary politically correct speech) Intelligent Design. This theory emphasizes the *almost*
in the equation of the so-called universal code and points out that there is no one-hundred percent satisfactory scientific explanation of how the exceptions to this rule fit into any
the explanation of life springing from a solar event. When we consider these theories from a scientific perspective we find that
much work has been completed demonstrating the first theory but the second theory is not something that can be scientifically proven or disproven. It is a faith-based theory, a
theory that holds that there is indeed an "intelligent" entity that is responsible for the creation of life. To most supporters of this theory this intelligent entity, of course,
would be God. In some ways research that has attempted to prove that life originated as a result of the so-called
Big Bang has inadvertently supported the Intelligent Design theory. There must be some explanation, after all for the exceptions that exist in regard to genetic code! Those that
oppose the concept of intelligent design, however, have concentrated simply on the likelihood that the "Big Bang" resulted in the proper combination of substances and ultimately life.
