However, UAE is one of many countries in the Middle East. While the nation has come a long way, one may not say that it is yet fully developed. Today,
the population of the United Arab Emirates is about 2,369,153, a figure that includes 1,576,472 non-nationals ("United" PG). Those figures were estimated in July of 2000. Other estimates include the
birth rate which is 18 births per 1,000 people and the death rate at 3.68 deaths per 1,000 (PG). Obviously, with a birth rate much higher than the death
rate, the country continues to grow. However, one should keep in mind that the infant mortality rate is relatively high at 17.17 per 1,000 live births (PG). The fertility rate
for females in this country appears to be average, though on the high side. It is 3.29 children born per woman (PG). Another way it grows is in respect to
immigration which accounts for 1.82 migrants per 1,000 people (PG). In the United Arab Emirates life expectancy is 74.06 years, an average of both genders which includes an estimate
slightly higher for females ("United" PG). This of course is typical as women in general tend to live longer than men. II. Population Growth The United Arab Emirates
has expanded at an extremely rapid rate since it began. The population increased from approximately 180,000 to its present state at over two million ("UAE" PG). Population would continue
