truth, then it can be relied upon, there is certainty, but if the truth is not spoken, then there is uncertainty and harm is created by dishonesty and the uncertainty
it creates. There are occasions where it may not harm the individual telling or receiving the untruth, but Kant argue humanity as a whole is harmed. For this reason all
communication should be made up of the truth, and any arguments that favour the opposite are based on convenience only. The concept is simple, to tell the truth all the
time as the basis of all communication. This is a concept that can be seen as very different form modern philosophers such as Rorty, where truth is aligned with love
and the concept is mot as straightforward. In understanding Kants views there are many exceptions that may be made by an observer, such
as what about when an individual is dying, and to know their condiions will hasten death. There are few that will argue the truth is not in the interests the
individual. Kant argues that the individuals interests are subordinate to humanity as a whole, For example, if it is known these lies are told, when will others in the same
position known if they are being told the truth, or will they assume the worse, harming humanity as a whole. Here there is only one truth, the choices are whether
