Easter - properly! The Truman Show (1998, directed by Peter Weir) uses the tools of
cinematography, that is, lighting, color, camera angle, types of shots, music and set design, to underscore the theme of self-determination and individualism that is evident the life of Truman
Burbank, a truly nice guy. The premise of the film of the film is that Truman was adopted by a television studio, which has broadcast every minute of his life,
from childhood onward, which means that Truman lives in one of the largest, most elaborate sets every constructed, as it a self-contained, domed world in which the shows director, who
is known simply as Christof, ruthlessly manipulates Trumans psyche in order to direct his life to fit the purposes of the show. He does this from an observation/control room that
appears to Truman to simply be the full moon. The ways in which the tools of cinematography are utilized to explain how the Truman Show is accomplished. In the
mythical town of Sea Haven, Florida, the days are always sunny and bright. Color are crisp and clean and everyone looks like they just stepped out of a 1950s or
60s ad. As the director can order this universe anyway he sees fit, Sea Haven is the America that never was, an America where everyone middle class, streets are clean
and well ordered, and women were nice dresses and high heels when they are home doing housework, as well as when they go out. The music fits this scenario. Truman
